The Internees are supposed to assist the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) KP-SCRP in the following fields: 1) the interns will be assigned 2-5 under construction sites for supervision and monitoring of the work. 2) the interns will communicate update progress to the PIU through Emails/whatsapp as and when required. 3) the Interns will be responsible to inform the PIU of slow progress of the contractor or non-availability of the NESPAK representative on site. 4) the Interns is supposed to have close liaison with C&W, contractor, NESPAK & PIU for timely completion of the Project. 5) Preference will be given to those candidates who belong to those districts where the schools are under construction i.e. D.I. Khan, Tank, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Karak, Kohat, Peshawar, Swabi, Buner, Swat & Dir Lower. 6) those interns who are posted out side there home district will be paid Rs.15000/PM on account of transportation/ boarding lodging & food etc in addition to regular stipend Rs.25000/PM. 7) Both Male and Female candidates are equally eligible however female candidates will be preferred to be posted in there home districts. 8) 24 candidates will be selected as Engineer for field posting while 04 candidates as Computer Operator in the PIU office. 9) those who applied for Computer Operator shall be posted in the PIU office located in Peshawar.

In February 2019, DFID committed £ 23.37 Million off budget support to the Elementary and Secondary Education Department for standardization of 62 Higher Secondary Schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. DFID and the Provincial Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa agreed on the implementation modalities in April, 2019. A high level steering committee headed by the Additional Chief Secretary P&D Department was notified to oversee the overall program implementation, make policy decisions, approve scope of works and annual work plane for the PIU KP-SCRP. The DFID grant was originally required to be utilized by July 2020 which was extended for another one year. Communication & Works is the executing Department while MS NESPAK is the resident supervisory consultant for the program. The quality of work is not only supervised by NESPAK but also M&E wing of the E&SED carries inspections to Pensure the specification and scope of work. In order to coordinate all these activities among the stack holders a Project Implementation Unit has been constituted in the Elementary and Secondary Education Department headed by the Project Director with skeletal staff. Scope of Component-I consist of standardization of 53 Higher Secondary Schools in 8 districts of the Province including D.I. Khan, Bannu, Tank, Lakki Marwat, Karak, Swabi, Bunner & Swat while Component-II consist of 73 schools including standardization of 7 Higher Secondary Schools while rest of the schools are either reconstruction or up-gradation of different category of schools in the Province. Total size of the project is RS. 4614.009 Million. Construction work on all the 128 sites have been started and the project of the Component-I are scheduled to be completed by 30 September 2020 while rest of the schools are required to be completed by 31th March 2021.
