Description

• To manage the activities of GIS team of the project as per their assignment by the Project Management • To be responsible for the GIS data/information needs of the project and ensure the collection, storage, retrieval and analysis of data required for the successful completion of the project. To assess the GIS data/information needs of the project and ensure the collection, storage, retrieval and analysis data required for the successful completion of the project. • To coordinate and work on preparation of the base maps and land use plans • To manage the development of GIS software packages • To evaluate the functionality of systems • To Keep GIS Techs/Gadgets/apps up-to-date • To evaluate the base maps and land use plans prepared by the project team and submit the same to the DM for finalization. • To provide technical input in finalization of Base maps. • To assist the Project Manager in the development and management of GIS project plans including report section of the plan. • To provide GIS-related technical guidance and assistance to the project teams. • To assess training needs of the project team and make necessary arrangements for arranging such trainings. • Any other relevant job assigned by the Management of the Project.

Project Details

The Provincial Land Use Plan is envisaged as a policy document for an integrated, coordinated and systematic planning and even spread of development activities, employments to the rural and sub-urban population close to home and reduce pressure on mega cities. It aims at establishing hierarchy of settlements and developments of Satellite, Intermediate, Secondary and Industrial Towns as focal points of future to cater the rural areas and small towns. Meanwhile, the Plan will aim at optimizing exploitation of human and physical resources, maximizing provincial income, increase in overall activity and balanced distribution of infrastructure and services and increased per capita Income. It will also provide guidance to the nation building departments agencies including District Governments/TMAs for undertaking integrated and coherent development programs through holistic planning approach. Approved cost of the Revised PC-1 = 588.673 Millions Consultancy services contract awarded to Urban Sector Planning & Management Unit, Punjab for Preperation of District Land Use Plans of 22 Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
