Project Details

This project is a problem-oriented, research-driven initiative focused on the conservation of forest resources, particularly to support the Forest Departments of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in combating illegal logging and timber trafficking. It proposes the application of DNA fingerprinting—an advanced, tamper-resistant molecular technology—for precise species identification and verification of timber origin across restricted and inter-provincial boundaries.
